You Can't Have America; It's Mine Too

One time too many I've heard someone speak of "taking back America".

Excuse me?  From whom, then, would you be taking it?  Why, your fellow Americans, of course.  Me, for one.  And I refuse you.

You can't take away my America to have it all for yourself.  We must share it.  Sharing means taking turns, being satisfied with less than you wished for but more than you might have had.  It demands -- compels -- compromise.

Give up your un-American notion that you can take my country from me.  You'll find that I'll fight you for it.  Many will.  You won't like that and neither will I.  Instead, let's see what we can build together when we decide to behave like neighbors rather than combatants.
